Job Title: Fund Development and Communications Coordinator

Description:

Status: Part Time for 5-6 months

PROJECT SUMMARY
The Fund Development and Communications Coordinator will participate in both fundraising and communications activities with support from an iOWH employee. Fundraising activities relate to soliciting funds from and stewarding relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations and government entities, while communications activities relate to the development of materials to educate and inform donors and constituents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 
  • Writes and edits content for donor communications and public relations materials, including the iOWH website, brochures, e-newsletter, mailings, press releases, collateral materials and annual report
  • Serves as communications liaison to the project teams on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate and updated information is reflected in publications and iOWH website
  • Cultivates relationships with current foundation donors via email and by coordinating meetings to update foundation program officers on iOWH progress
  • Drafts and manages internal approval process of press releases as well as disseminates releases through prweb.com
  • Manages donor requests for information and prepares and sends materials as needed to current and prospective donors
  • Reviews latest U.S. government grant opportunities posted on grants.gov website on daily basis
  • Researches potential new major donors
  • Manages relationships with vendors, including graphics and printing companies, webmasters, etc., for development of collateral materials and enhancement of website
  • Manages relationships with Cause Related Marketing partners and coordinates as needed
  • Manages the grant report process, including writing and editing of grant reports
  • Participates in the Global Health Technologies Coalition advocacy initiatives
  • Updates DonorPerfect database with correct constituent information
  • Investigates and shares relevant market trends and news stories
  • Communicates with donors via organizational update emails using iPost email software
  • Special projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of non-profit fundraising/ communications experience
  • Proposal writing or grant preparation experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized and good judgment in establishing priorities and problem solving
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in DonorPerfect or other fundraising software
  • Strong interpersonal skills
